Hi! Me and my fianace are getting readu to get married. She has $20,000 in credit card debt and I have $25,000 in credit card debt. If one of us dies before the otherone dies, would the other spouce be responciple for the others debts? We have no joint credit accounts.

If I get married to someone who has credit card debt, will I be responsible for her debts?
No, unless you assume each other's debt you would not be liable for it. However, if you buy a house, for example, in joint ownership then things could get stickier.

Financial matters can cause extreme stress on a relationship, so I suggest that the two of you get some financial counseling to see how you can work out your debt before you get married.

Good luck.
