Can I remove a paid debt from my report by filing a dispute?

I've recently paid off a few debts. Two of the debt collectors were kind enough to remove the accounts from my record. I have one stubborn company who won't. I was wondering if there's a chance I might be able to get rid of it. Has anybody had any luck with that?

You can always try there is a possibility that they might not respond since you have already paid them.
Reply:Some folks have said that if you dispute a number of things on the same debt (i.e., high balance, paid off dates, etc.), that rather than go through the trouble to really investigate, the company reporting the debt will just drop the record from your report. This may not work with every company.

Having said this, a dispute does not remove a record from your report, merely verifies the information reported is correct and if it is, the record stays on your report (or fixes those things reported incorrectly).
Reply:No..a dispute is for wrong information on your credit report. The agency would investigate an find that the info is correct and it will stay on the report
Reply:No. You can get the status updated to "paid" but you can't remove it.
