How can I get the info to pay off the debt?

I pulled my credit report and seen debt from a few years ago on it that is stated still open. They are legit and I want to pay them off but it does not state any contact info. How do I go about getting the collection agencies information? Do I just dispute the debt so therefore I will recieve a letter from them with their info?

If the debts are legit, the you know who they are. In which case, you use a search engine to locate the phone numbers.

Reply:That’s a good idea, dispute the debt with the 3 major credit reporting bureaus and if they don't get a response from them then they will remove the items. It’s strange that contact info is not listed. It's usually listed on the last pages of the credit report.
Reply:You would need to contact the creditor who you should already know who it is and tell them you want to pay off the debt. They should be able to direct you appropriately, unless the debt was sold to the agency. In that case, it will never come off your credit report and your only issue is to pay a company that buys debt instruments for profit and it's too late for your credit report problem. If the agency sues you or not, the report will only say someone sued you for the debt. If you pay, well it's not going to say that because they are not in the business of fixing credit reports. You can dispute credit report entries, however that is not what credit report agencies are for. They alert creditors that people will not pay them and you can say, you pay after they get a collection agency after you, which so happens to be pointless for credit. The creditor doesn't want to lend you money ever again and will not be in any rush to report otherwise.
Reply:You can contact the original debt person, and they should be able to direct you. If these doesn't work, you should be able to contact the credit report people, transunion, etc and they get you the info. If it was MO p %26amp; L , type that in on the web and see if it pulls up who you want. Most times you can click on contact us and there will be a phone number or email address.
