How do you feel when you have credit card debt?

I'm doing a persuasive speech on why people should pay off their credit card debt, but first i need to know how people feel when they have the debt. THANK YOU :)

How do you feel when you have credit card debt?
Sometimes it feels like without my credit card debt, nobody would even know I'm alive.
Reply:That's a great question. My wife and I have been off of cards for half a year now - they are all cut up and the accounts are closed. We don't miss them one bit. As I've thought through the change, something occurred to me. The use of credit cards is really indicative that one doesn't have one's act together. Here are the objections I've heard from people who think I am crazy to give them up:

1) CCs are convenient?

More convenient than cash or a debit card - not hardly.

2) CCs pay me to use them?

Just like how Vegas gives free drinks to gamblers - do you think CC companies lose money on that deal? They incent you to use their card because it is in THEIR best interest - not yours.

3) I pay off my balance monthly so I don't pay interest.

Fine - so, in other words, you can't get by in life without a 30 to 60 day float on your money? Get some discipline.

Really - when you have credit card debt, you don't have full control over your finances, you are perpetually in debt, and you are likely spending more than you otherwise would spend without an appreciable improvement in lifestyle (statistically, credit card users spend 12 to 18% more than cash spenders).
Reply:its very uneasy :(

Credit card debt consolidation adds up all your unpaid balances and converts them into a single payment. This payment is far lesser than each of the individual payments.

When you finalize a plan with a debt consolidation company, the company repays your dues to your creditors. Then you make a single payment to the consolidation company every month. Your average new interest rate is much below the old interest rate.

Reply:Having debt makes me feel uneasy, and that is why I am paying all of mine off. I have already paid off all credit card debt. And, like the first poster, have cut them up and closed the accounts. Never again will I use credit cards. The stress of worrying about sending in the credit card payment is gone, and I feel great.
