I don't understand, Republicans are always saying how democrats will raise taxes and how evil that is. So how are we going to pay off this trillion dollar debt that bush has run up? Or do you not mind that a growing percentage of our tax dollars is going to pay off the interest on the debt? Is there some magical republican trick for making more money while cutting taxes Like Gulliani says?
Don't bother to say by cutting welfare or something like that, If the republicans were going to do that I think they would have done it by now......
What is the republican plan for paying off the debt?
By cutting off programs for Children and having more wars.
Thats really how they want to do it.
Yea, I know, there is more too it, but what I am doing is pointing out what a bunch of heartless souls they really are.
Peace
Jim

Reply:The 2 Presidents who racked up more debt than any others in their 2 terms were/are:
1. Ronald Reagan
2. George W. Bush
Republicans have no 'plan' for the debt except to create more of it. Do not believe their COMPLETE LINE OF SUPPLY SIDE BULL about how cutting taxes creates more revenue erases debt. Bill Clinton raised taxes and the debt increased much less rapidly under him than under the last 3 Republican Presidents. Even with an economy that's been growing the last few years Bush is still running a deficit and that's without factoring in his half (T)rillion dollar war. That has all been funded through 'emergency supplementals' so as to hide the extent of Bush's fiscal irresponsibility.
Reply:Unfortunately, the Republican party has no plans for paying off the debt, except for Ron Paul. There was no income tax in this country until 1913. The best way to pay off the debt is to stop being the world's policeman, abolish the IRS and learn to live within our means.
2. Cut taxes
Tax cutting is creating more revenues because of higher employments.
and you think Higher Taxes will solve the problems????
Reply:The debt was there long before Bush my friend. Sorry your facts are wrong. Also budgets are passed by Congress, not the Prez. So both parties are responsible.
But I do agree with you that it needs to be gotten under control.
Reply:They should've done the honorable thing and raised taxes to pay for it now rather than pushing the debt on our children and grandchildren. As for a plan I assume it'll be let the democrats solve it by raising taxes and then whine about the democrats raising taxes.
Reply:There is no general republican plan currently to pay off the debt. Right now, we are in a much deeper debacle, but not going into a recession. I think that it's best to stay out of the debt question first until we can reach a consensus on how to even stop ourselves from pulling into deeper debt than the one we have currently. There is nothing evil around the nature of taxes, either there will be or there won't be. Taxes help the circulation of money flow into our system, according to the Keynesian model.
Reply:getting rid of Bush
Reply:Watch the movie. Zeitgeistmovie.com. At the end it talks of what's going on now bush actually signed a bill with canada and mexico that will slowly start coming into place where we will have no borders and our money will be turned into the amero. By removing the borders we will collaborate with the other two countries in removing debt.
Reply:Raise taxes on the middle and lower classes. I think they should go to their corporate counterparts and get money from these multi-billion dollar companies to pay the defecit. Why don't the oil companies pay for the war? I know the Republicans won't take a pay cut or cut back some of their benefits payed for by tax dollars.
We should quit giving other countries money first of all
Then we should get back money from countries that owe us.
Reply:The first thing that we have to realize, is that actually eliminating the national debt is all but impossible. The thing to concentrate on is the yearly defecit. In truth, as long as we a flushing money down the toilet at a cataclysmic rate on the war. (Not saying I am for or against it, but you can't reasonably argue the fact that there isn't some serious profiteering and fiscal mismanagement happening there.)
On top of the war, we are looking at the dollar dropping in value, as well as a serious credit crisis. (That can be blamed not only individuals for living outside of their means, but also on politicians of every persuasion)
First thing, end or scale back the war. Flat tax for everyone. Greatly change the way that we fight the war on drugs, as well as the way we incarcerate people. As long as we are making money hand over fist with the crazy oil prices, make sure that more of that money gets to where it needs to go in the government. Be more efficient with not only our government's money, but also their time and other resources.
I know that those are all my suggestions, but you asked for Republican party suggestions for eliminating the debt, and that would just be a bunch of blank space, and that isn's all that fun to look at.
Good luck.
Reply:Passing the debt to next POTUS and crying when whom ever the person should be must raise our taxes to pay for the mess Bush left behind...
Reply:It is a fact of modern life. Do you understand the debt? Did you know that welfare came about after your magic 100 years? Did you know that world wide defense spending came about after your magic 100 years? Did you know that public education came about the same time? Before that YOU paid for your child, not some piddly tax but actual cash or goods.
The debt includes debt to citizens and companies who loan the government money by way of bonds and so on.
Debt is an all inclusive thing. There is no plan, as you say. You sound like a Paulie. Are you?
You do need to look into what a national debt consists of.
Reply:Plan? Plan??! Bahhhahahahahaha!!!
Reply:What is the Democrat's plan? Raising taxes won't do it because is slows the economy and with all the crap the Democrats are planning on spending, none of the taxes will go to debt.
So before you blast one party about debt reduction, you should look at the group that has the majority in Congress!
Reply:Does either one have a plan? Democrats want higher taxes in order to redistribute more wealth, not to pay a debt. Republicans want to throw away more money into foreign countries we have no business in.
Reply:Let's use the Environmentalist-Wacko line of thinking. Let's recycle all liberals into compost and sell it back to the American farmer for fertilizer. Increased bushels of corn -- Larger exports -- less mindless, idiots.
Reply:There is none as far as I know...
Good question....
Reply:I find your obsequious anti-Bush rant about the debt rather boring. If you were intellectually honest, you would admit to the fact that both parties are equally responsible.
One party spends and borrows, and the other party spends and increases taxes; however, the spending continues to increase. One increases defense spending, and the other increases (unconstitutional) social spending. ( That was before Bush's prescription drug giveaway.)
The problem is the vast majority, 80% ,of spending is for social programs that are overwhelmingly supported by liberals.
Federal government spending is completely out of control and supporting free drug programs or free health care schemes is not going to get the problem under control. But, most of all, playing petty politics by blaming different candidates for the problem only further exasperates the problem.
